About Dr. Amy

Dr. Amy is a large animal veterinarian dedicated to providing thoughtful, thorough, and practical care tailored to each animal and client's individual needs. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2020 and has spent the past six years in practice focused on equine and large animal care.

A lifelong animal lover, Amy fell in love with horses and riding at age 6 and knew very early on that she wanted to dedicate her life to caring for them and bettering their lives. She met her heart horse "Slant" as a teenager, and he remains an important part of her family—he inspired the name Slanted Trail Veterinary Services.

She lives in Northern Colorado with her husband Ben, kiddos Rylen and Kasen, and the animal crew: dogs Halley and Ruger, and horses Slant and Max. A Colorado native, Dr. Amy enjoys spending time in the great outdoors backpacking, camping, and hiking with her family; every once in a while her husband Ben convinces her to go hunting with him too. When she has a few spare minutes (few and far between these days!) she also loves to get lost in a good book. She founded Slanted Trail Veterinary Services in 2025 to offer personalized, high-quality veterinary care while building meaningful relationships with clients and patients and maintaining a strong connection to her family and the lifestyle she love
